A True 831993 defrost timer (Grasslin DTSX-IM-120-TM) operates the defrost system of a True freezer or deli display case. At regular points in time specified by the operator, the defrost timer switches into defrost mode and turns the defrost heater on to melt the ice on the evaporator coil. During that cycle the compressor does not run because the timer is no longer supplying power to that circuit. This prevents ice from building up on the evaporator, prolonging the life of your appliance and its components and protecting your products from spoilage.
