Vintage 1968 Chalkware Statue Darwin’s Chimp Chimpanzee Monkey Sitting on a Book holding a Human Skull which he is pondering.
From an estate, this decorative statue portrays Darwin's Chimp holding a human skull with his paw on his chin as he pensively considers the human face.
It is quite heavy, weighing over 6 lbs. Chimp is dark brown and the skull is gray with black "antiquing" finish over all. It is marked "copyright 1968 PROGRESSIVE ART Products" on the spine of the book. The bottom is felt lined to protect the surface it sits on.
Measures approximately 9 1/2" tall x 8" wide x 5 1/4" deep. It is in excellent condition, no chips, nicks or scratching.
